Timeline of Events

April 10, 1912- 
The Titanic leaves Southampton, England with over 2,000 passengers.

April 14, 1912-

Voyage is two thirds complete.  
First iceberg warning is heard via radio- no precautions are taken. 
April 14- 10pm 
Another and final emergency warning message is sent to the ship, this time from the SS Californian, this is also ignored and at this point Captain Smith even orders the ship to increase speed rather than slow down to assess the situation.  
11:45pm




1:50am (April 15th)



April 15, 1912-

Iceberg grazes the starboard bow. The last minute attempt to turn the ship is too late becasuse a vessel of The Titanic's size moves so slowly. 



Ship breaks into two pieces, forward end sinking first.


The Titanic finishes sinking and is completely submerged. It takes 1.5 hours after that for another ship, The Carpathia, to arrive and rescue those who made it onto lifeboats.
